Jets sign kicker Greg Zurlein

on Saturday, The Jets officially announced they have taken on the kicker Greg Zuerlein.

Zuerlein took 34 free kicks during the season of 2020, which set records in the history of the Cowboys. However, last year Zuerlein missed six free kicks (29/35) and added 6 more scores (42/48). The Cowboys stopped him in March.

In the wake of Jason Myers left to join the Seahawks the Jets are looking for a reliable kicker. Their first option would be Chandler Catanzaro, but Catanzaro abruptly announced his retirement at training camp.

The Jets have brought in seven kickers since the time they were hired: Kaare Vedvik, Sam Ficken, Sergio Castillo, Chase McLaughlin, Matt Ammendola, Alex Kessman and Eddie Penero. Wedwick, McLaughlin and Kessman each played just one game before they were released.

Greg Zuerlein was a sixth-round selection of the Rams in 2012 and was one of the best footballers of the NFL with a free-kick record percentage at 82.2 percent.
