Jaguars sign the pass rusher Jaden Key to one-year deal

The Jaguars added an offensive lineman to their defense on Wednesday, when they announced that they have signed defensive end Arden Key on a one-year contract.

Key was arguably the greatest performances of his entire career this season, when he recorded 6.5 tackles in just 35 per cent of the 49ers defense. Key will begin along with linebacker outside Josh Allen on the other side, replacing K’Lavonchaisson who has two sacks across 31 games.

Pass-rushing has been among the Jaguars weakness. The team had 32 sacks during the season, placing 9th from the bottom of the league. When compared to the Jaguars their quarterbacks averaged an average of 64.9 percent completion rate. There were just seven interceptions.

The Jaguars are slated to pick a first-rounder in the upcoming draft and the pass the rusher Aidan Hutchinson may be one of the options.

Alongside 6.5 Sacks, Key had 22 tackles and 17 hits for the quarterback in the last season. Key’s sacks were second in the team, behind Nick Bosa (15.5).
